Adventures in Wonderland

I gave up all the makeup related posts on my youtube channel for now. It wasn't something I could regularly commit to anymore and my facebook page was easier to commit to. If I do decide to go back to doing videos it will most likely just be reviews unless I do a slice of life type thing. I don't like appearing on video much anymore because the prolific hate comments on the site... and after seeing one of my favorite gurus being on a nasty site where she was compared to her face looking like the joker from batman.

That being said, I also have my boyfriend/so/common law hubby or whatever you call it in whatever state's daughter visiting for the school year so my life has had a huge upheaval. I used to teach K-12 but having a child around 24/7 is quite a different story! She's 10 going on 20 in some ways and still very much a child in others. Monster High and hot pink now rule the house.

We have been having awful weather today with being grazed by hurricane Sandy and getting low wind chills and snow my skin has taken a beating!

I changed some stuff on the sidebar, feel free to check them out. Until then I am off chasing child until 8 or 9pm..... no homework tonight. She got her grades back today and did quite well despite the upheaval of moving from Alaska to here. :-)

Intro, Part II

Just a short note to those who read and didn't leave comments... the cats are doing better, there are still some bumps but no fur has flown yet. I think it will be a few more weeks before things run smoothly, and I think Mitzi may have kitty PTSD if there is such a thing. She was found in a foreclosed home over this past winter (2011) and adopted out in February. After 4 months, her new owner went into hospice and her relatives returned her to the shelter. Kitty hell? She spent about a month in the shelter before I brought her home so I am hoping it is just a need for lots of TLC and no weird cat valium or anything.

She responds well to catnip... it kind of relaxes her but when it wears off she gets really aggrevated for a few minutes till she gets her bearings. I am trying to find cat friendly herbs besides catnip for her to smell and roll around in... not sure how that will work, but I am feeling optimistic. If this lets me I will put in an image, she is a very pretty kitty, gray and white but the flash on my camera made her look like she has a brown spot on the top of her head.

Kitty intro woes....

I picked up a kitty from the animal shelter yesterday because Muffin had been restless at night and looking for Tigger and yowling. Intro not so good. :-(

The new kitty, Mitzi is a total sweetheart but is so afraid of things right now that she started vomiting this morning. She seems okay now, but I have to keep them separated even though the haven't attacked each other except for hissing contests.

I wish cats could be like dogs and sniff butts and get over it. It is so difficult to keep them completely separate because of my apartment layout, and I don't know how to get through this evening since keeping them separated means keeping Mitzi in my room and I can't shut the door at all times because they both need box access. I guess I should have researched this better. Tigger was so laid back it wasn't as much a problem. Catnip?

Decluttering and still waiting....

I'm still waiting for my influenster box to show up... in the meantime I went through all my makeup and purged everything I wasn't using so I had a serious downsize! Finally everything I own fits into my caboodle and I don't have to have it under my bed anymore :-)

I felt bad about throwing some stuff away.... I hadn't hit the pan and felt like it was a waste of money. Then I thought about it some more and since some of it smelled off, it was good to go anyways. I can't wait for my boyfriend to get home to see that I got rid of most of the "hoard".

Moving around

I keep wondering where I should go with my blogging. I am currently waiting for my influenster box to come, and I have a web friend that just got hers so it was fun to see what is coming to me. I also need to go back to that account and add more badges. I'm currently not making many youtube videos due to the heat and it's effects on me. (I take a few medications that have a tendency to dehydrate me if I am out too long or get overtired.)

I just have not made the video linking to this blog or the facebook page yet. I think I need to purchase more rechargeable batteries so that if I am uploading to youtube that there is more than just beauty stuff there. I am not changing the name of this blog only because I still like it as I like to crash test items when I can. I am also planning to start putting items on my listia account, I am narrowing down my makeup, I have so much that is going unused and it needs to be tossed or listed. I think I will end here, my brain is starting to scramble on me even though 2am can be some of my most creative times of the day. More soon.....

Moving around blogger

I am most likely going to be killing my tumblr account, I am more wanting to be over here since there are several people I like that are leaving youtube but have blogger accounts.
